During a recent deployment of a hydro-cooled mining site using the AntSpace HK3 V2 container, our team encountered a major delay caused by a mismatch in pump motor wiring.

Although the replacement motor matched spec sheet voltage and power ratings, it was shipped in a Delta configuration, while the HK3 requires a Wye (Star) configuration for correct integration with its soft-start, overload, and phase protection systems.

The spec sheet didn’t disclose the internal wiring, and like many operators would, we assumed the unit would ship in Wye like the original.

How to Identify the Wiring Configuration (in the field):

Look at the terminal box:

Use a multimeter for continuity checks
- Tone out windings and map them (e.g., U1-U2, V1-V2, W1-W2)
- Watch for three groups of windings: each should be independent

How We Rewired the Motor (on-site):

Verified motor winding pairs using resistance/continuity testing
Removed Delta jumpers across phases
Joined the neutral ends (U2, V2, W2) for a Wye center point
Reconnected U1, V1, W1 to L1, L2, L3 from the HK3 power bus

Important: This should only be done by a qualified technician. Improper rewiring can cause damage to the HK3 soft-start module or the motor itself.
